PATCH 1.4Evidence reviewed2026-11-06

Incursion Red River AI Settings

There is no universal best preset. Start where objectives are learnable, then adjust one behavior at a time and keep the preset code with the game version.

Preset first, tuning second

The official store describes presets from Conscript through Elite and detailed customization. Use a preset long enough to identify the actual problem—reaction, accuracy, search pressure, grenades or concurrent pursuers—before changing sliders.

What patch 1.4 changed

  • A central AI Director manages pacing and engagement count.
  • Bots search in teams, use cover, flank and reposition.
  • Awareness is shared within a side rather than globally.
  • Bots avoid grenades, gas, smoke and danger areas.
  • Grenades can be disabled and are off on Recruit.

Practical tuning order

  • Start lower while learning objectives and extraction.
  • Test one full raid before changing another category.
  • Reduce search pressure before removing every threat.
  • Disable grenades only if they block learning.
  • Record the shareable preset code and patch.
