Incursion Red River Beginner Guide

The raid loop

Incursion Red River is a tactical PvE extraction shooter. You prepare in the safehouse, deploy to one of four current maps, complete story or side objectives, collect useful items and try to extract. A death can cost what you carried, so consistent small wins matter more than fighting every enemy.

The official campaign centers on UICS, VLF and IGC. Missions give each raid purpose; the safehouse turns extracted materials and equipment into longer-term progress.

• Choose one mission or material goal before deploying.
• Pack for that goal and identify an extraction plan.
• Leave after the objective is secured; spare capacity is cheaper than a lost kit.

A safer first session

Use early raids to learn movement, sound, healing, inventory handling and extraction timing. Patch 1.4 rebuilt RED:FOR behavior, so older advice may understate how actively squads search, flank and reposition.

Progress without wasting runs

Sort extracted items by immediate survival value, mission value and safehouse value. More than 100 barter items are described by the store, so a full stash is not automatically a useful stash. Patch 1.4 adds stash search, bulk selling, item cases, in-raid traders and secure containers.

Common early mistakes

• Using a guide without checking its patch date.
• Turning every sound into a fight.
• Taking rare mission items into an unrelated raid.
• Ignoring heavy bleeding, fractures, food or drink.
• Copying another PC’s “best settings” without testing.
